This is a true story that I recorded as it unfolded that June 2004. And since Jeb left us, this is a tribute to the little dog with a huge heart. Diane

Living in the Midwest, out in the country, can have lots of wonderful rewards along with some trade offs over city living. The dusty gravel roads are the thoroughfares that lead to the smooth pavements and town. The conviences of city dwelling are forfeited for the wide open spaces that give you freedom as well as room to move around and grow.Country living affords you a first hand look at God’s creation, even at a distance. One example is, each dawn and dusk the fields are dotted with the Whitetail deer as they come out to graze. The country side is filled with nocturnal as well as the daylight inhabitants. It’s like a peaceful coexistence between man and animals, with our paths crossing on occasion. Some of those meetings do not end well, while others add richness to all of our lives. The story that follows is one in truth about such an encounter.
